Studio Putman · France
Olivia Putman was born in 1964, who grew up in Paris with her mother, Andrée Putman, a designer, and her father Jacques Putman, an art collector and editor. She completed a bachelor’s degree in History of Art at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
Since 1997, Olivia worked with Studio Putman as a landscape architect. In 2007, satisfying a long-time wish of her mother, the founder of the Studio Putman, Olivia became the Art Director of the company.
“I am a very open-minded designer. I enjoy to looking and listening in order to feed my inspiration, even a trip in the subway can spark new ideas. My style has not changed much over the years. My aesthetic is linked to one goal: I try to imagine the right design for a purpose. I hope that my style is diverse, free, and generous. I love going from a subject to another, designing a cup in the morning and concentrating myself on a new hotel during the rest of the day.”
