Born in Poitiers, Eva Nguyen Binh graduated from the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Strasbourg) in 1994, going on to pursue a diplomatic career.

 

During the French Council of Ministers of 2 June 2021, Nguyen Binh was appointed President of the Board of Directors of the Institut français and Ambassador for French Cultural Diplomacy. She took office at the Institut français on 1 July 2021.

 

Nguyen Binh is a top-ranking Foreign Affairs Advisor and has been France’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Cambodia since 7 June 2017. She was previously Cooperation and Cultural Advisor at the France Embassy, and Director of the Institut français in Vietnam.

 

During her career, she has worked in departments of International Cooperation and Development, Economic and Financial Affairs, and European Cooperation as well as in the programme service and network of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. She has also held posts of Asia and Latin America Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2008), and Political Advisor to New Delhi (India) and Lisbon (Portugal). Nguyen Binh was International chargé d’affairs within the Public Affairs Department of the Michelin Group from 2010 to 2013. She was appointed Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour.
